Description:

The Engineering Technician provides support in the development and launch of new products, systems and technologies under the direction of the supervising manger or cognizant project engineer as well as day to day troubleshooting and repairs. This individual is working in the shop and lab in building and testing product, using spreadsheets and word process for data collection and reporting. This role reports to the Engineering Manager but works under the direction of other engineers but will work independently, relying on skill and initiative to complete tasks and goals. Specific Job Function: • Independently build prototype models using basic shop tools under the direction of cognizant engineers • Independently test prototype and production hardware using test procedures and test equipment under the direction of cognizant engineers • Maintain safe and working manufacturing environment including troubleshooting equipment, communicating effectively under pressure, and providing effective suggestions for improvement • Independently collect data and report test data under the direction of cognizant engineers • Prepare comprehensive, accurate and detailed technical reports supporting testing or analytical analyses under the direction of cognizant engineers Requirements: • PLC experience • Troubleshooting repairs and solutions on manufacturing equipment in fast paced environment • Able to perform and utilize spreadsheets (material stress, deflection, forces, moments, fluid flow rates, pressure, O-ring squeeze) for upfront analyses to quickly guide the direction
