Evaluation Specialist/Data Analyst

As an Emergency Management Evaluation Specialist/Data Analyst supporting CDC, you will be trusted to work on Emergency Management and Operations Planning and support the planning, training, and evaluation of the DEO team. You will get the opportunity to work closely with the Center for Preparedness and Response (CPR) Team at CDC in emergency planning and evaluation of emergency responses including disease surveillance items (COVID 19), natural disasters, and other unexpected events. In this role, a typical day will include: Collaborating with CDC to solve plan, develop and evaluate the various aspects of emergency operations, including COVID 19 support. Assist in writing, coordinating, and developing emergency response plans. Writing, coordinating, and developing emergency weekly response plans. Send requests for inputs to weekly Situation Reports Compile inputs from response task forces into weekly Situation Reports. Submit draft Situation Reports to Planning Section Chief for review and approval. Coordinate completed Situation Reports and Incident Action Plans with EOC Operations Maintain reports in established SharePoint and shared drive locations Assist in developing and updating the response Incident Action Plans. Collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data to identify areas for improvement in CDC response operations. Conduct data management and analysis using analytic and statistical software packages (e.g. SAS, NVivo, Power Bi) Synthesize response-related data from multiple sources in briefings and reports to share evaluation findings with response leadership Assist in planning and conducting meetings and conference calls, both in-person and virtual. Develop PowerPoint and other briefing materials for meetings and conference calls. Perform other duties to support the response Planning Section as assigned Assist in developing draft observations and recommendations for the After Action Report Bachelor’s degree and 3 years related experience. Provide design, programming, documentation, and implementation of applications that require knowledge of government information technology systems for effective development and deployment of software modules Candidates will need to be adept at the evaluation of response data, qualitative and quantitative sources. And will get the opportunity to participate in AAR after-action report, corrective action program (CAP) for each response. Analyzes organizational data and conducts advanced statistical analysis. Applies mathematical calculations to recommend solutions to technical problems of high complexity. Models and evaluates the potential impact of data changes. Performs additional duties as assigned. Develops innovative strategies and quantifies the competitive performance of the organization's operations and/or markets. May coach and review the work of less-experienced professionals Contributes to the completion of specific programs and projects. Quick turn analysis of the data and how it is understood will be key factors determining the success Your success will be measured through continual customer feedback and training experiences WHAT YOU’LL NEED: Bachelors Science in Computer Science or related field, or Masters Public Health 3 or more years of relevant experience, 3 Years of specific data analysis tools (SAS, PowerBI, NIVO, etc) Basic Security Clearance
