Actalent is hiring an Aerospace Embedded Software Engineer for a manufacturer of both civilian and military applications. The company offers a flexible work schedule, can work 9/80(every other Friday off), as well as a hybrid schedule. Must be eligible to receive a security clearance.
Description:
- The Software Engineer will participate in a complete embedded software development lifecycle. In addition to design, code development, and test, the Software Engineer will ensure that requirements are correctly interpreted through participation in:
- Architecture and requirements reviews
- Peer reviews of work products derived from requirements specifications
Job duties:
- Design, develop, test and debug system software
- Design and implement software for embedded devices and systems, throughout lifecycle from requirements to deployment
- Design and implement MS Windows desktop software from requirements to deployment
- Review code and design
- Estimate software development tasks and resource requirements
Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in embedded systems design with preemptive, multi-tasking real-time operating systems (e.g. VxWorks, Green Hills)
- Proficient in C, C++ and Python
- Knowledge of IBM Rational-DOORS
- Knowledge of OS coding techniques, IP protocols, interfaces and hardware subsystems
- Experience developing software requirement specifications and software documentation
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DOD) Security Clearance
Preferred Skills &Experience:
- Knowledge of EW Self-Protection Systems (e.g. RWR, LWS, MWS) and performance
- Systems or networking programming experience
- Familiarity with C# and WinForms
- Experience with development and execution of verification and validation procedures
- Basic understanding of Software Security
