Description:

Lab Technician will be working on new product development for the company's writing division. Will work under supervision of Chemist to help with the testing. Will work on different projects assigned to them daily and have a test plan that they will be required to carry out. Will work together with Chemist on various test plans to understand how many samples need to be ran. Testing incudes QC testing, claims testing, benchmarking testing, pH & Viscosity testing. Mix of chemistry tests and mechanical testing.

Technician could work on adhesives, glue, pencils, or markers depending on the business need. This will allow for them to learn the science for the different platforms - testing is different for each platform

The goal is to identify cost and risks at the product component level to meet defined cost targets.

Skills & Qualifications:

Must have a B.S. in a Scientific Field with experience working in a lab

6+ months of experience testing in a chemistry lab

Experience with various QC testing - including measuring viscosity, pH, density, and particle size

Experience working on an instron machine is a plus

Clear and effective communication is necessary

Experience developing test methods preferred
