Safety Coordinator

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Safety Coordinator to join a family-owned civil contractor specializing in renewable construction. This position offers the opportunity to become a long-term member of our team and travel for additional projects upon completion.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct site walk downs to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Perform craft labor safety inspections to maintain a secure work environment.
  • Deliver applicable site training to promote safety awareness.
  • Complete daily reporting to track safety performance.
  • Update OSHA 300 logs to document recordable incidents.
  • Ensure that safe construction practices are utilized at all times.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience as a safety coordinator on commercial or industrial construction projects.
  • Experience in supporting civil site work.
  • Ability to be client-facing, well-spoken, and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
  • Proficiency in safety, construction, and construction safety practices.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Certifications such as OSHA 30, 500, 510, CSP, CHST are a plus.

Work Environment

The work environment involves working an average of 50-hour weeks, with the possibility of weekend work as projects ramp up. Our company, established in 1960, is experiencing rapid growth and specializes in earthmoving, demolition, underground utilities, soil stabilization, and more.

This is a position based out of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
