Structural Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to design structural solutions for industrial and commercial projects of various sizes. You will be responsible for creating designs for shallow and deep foundations, underground concrete vaults/tunnels, and steel structures including building additions and access platforms. Some of the types of work: steel, concrete and masonry industrial buildings, complex cast in place concrete foundations/walls, wood framed commercial and multipurpose complexes, residential buildings, and historical retrofits. Additionally, you will redline drawings for Revit Designers.

Responsibilities

• Design structural solutions for industrial and commercial projects of various sizes.
• Develop designs for shallow and deep foundations and underground concrete vaults/tunnels.
• Create designs for steel structures including building additions and access platforms.
• Redline drawings for Revit Designers.
• Interpreting and designing from a variety of different domestic and foreign structural building design codes.

Essential Skills

• 5 to 15 years of structural engineering experience with industrial or commercial projects.
• Proficiency in structural engineering software such as RISA 3D, Bluebeam, and Revit.
• Strong structural analysis skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with Autocad.
• Business development skills.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.

Work Environment

The work environment is business casual with a standard 40-hour work week. Entry-level engineers will primarily focus on sizing steel beams and columns, while experienced engineers will have client-facing roles and assist in leading projects. You will have the independence to learn new things and collaborate with engineers to tackle challenging problems.
