Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Job Description
The Maintenance Technician role involves installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery and equipment specific to operations, following blueprints, schematic drawings, operations manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications. The candidate will diagnose malfunctions in production machinery, service, repair, and replace defective parts, lubricate machinery, and perform routine maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Repair and maintain plant machinery and mechanical equipment according to diagrams, operation manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications.
- Analyze and diagnose production machinery malfunctions; service, repair, and replace defective parts using hand and power tools.
- Start machines/equipment to test their performance.
- Work safely to prevent on-the-job injuries by operating and repairing equipment efficiently.
- Maintain sanitary conditions while performing work.
- Calibrate and adjust production machinery to improve operational capabilities using hand tools.
- Provide technical assistance to the production department in setting up and changing over production equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance on machinery and document tasks in preventive maintenance records.
- Identify ways to improve production methods by observing work processes and collaborating with line personnel.
- Modify machinery and equipment as directed by the Engineering Department to enhance functional performance.
- Rebuild and install functional parts of production machinery.
- Collaborate with outside vendors to enhance in-house maintenance capabilities.
- Assist the Engineering Department in implementing and modifying maintenance programs.
- Maintain and service the external components of the dust collection system.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
- Mechanical aptitude, including basic understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, mechanical and piping systems.
- Ability to identify and understand mechanical components and their relationship in a mechanism.
- Knowledge of various machines, their operation, and parts; skill in using work-related tools.
- Troubleshooting and diagnosing problems in work processes.
- Effective communication and training skills.
- Ability to read and understand setup/operational diagrams, schematics, drawings, manuals, and specifications.
- Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
- Ability to organize and work on multiple tasks concurrently.
- High school diploma or GED.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Forklift certification within 60 days of starting.
- Prior industrial maintenance experience preferred.
- Pass required maintenance testing and demonstrate hands-on ability in hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, power transmissions, lubrication, pumps, pipe rigging, mechanical maintenance, operation of shop machines, combustion, motors, schematics, print reading, and basic AC and DC theory.
- On-site training specific to job responsibilities.
Work Environment
The position requires working from 11:15 pm to 7:45 am. The work environment includes using various hand tools, power tools, and machinery such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and aerial lifts. Candidates should be comfortable with working overtime and being on their feet for 8-10 hours a day.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $55000.00 - $65000.00/yr.
