Job Title: Product Design Engineer


Job Description

Join a dynamic team where you will develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) for both new and legacy products. This role provides an exciting opportunity to automate and build rules using Excel macros for seamless ERP system integration. You will collaborate with various teams, transition into product design using 3D CAD software, and engage in real-time problem-solving on the production line.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) for new and legacy products.
  • Automate rules and logic using Excel macros and formulas for ERP system integration.
  • Collaborate with IT to ensure accurate and timely data uploads into the ERP system.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings with design, engineering, and operations teams.
  • Transition into product design work using 3D CAD software.
  • Solve real-time production line issues, perform root cause analysis, and update design or process conditions.
  • Apply FEA and GD&T standards to run analyses.

Essential Skills

  • Strong proficiency in Excel or Access, including macros, formulas, and data automation.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and BOM structures.
  • Understanding of FEA and GD&T.
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in product development, data management, or ERP-related roles.
  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related field).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Creo.
  • Experience in design and analysis of wood or aluminum products.

This is a Contract position based out of Dubuque, Iowa.
