Job Description

Join our team as a Safety Coordinator where you'll collaborate with plant and safety teams to lead safety meetings and initiatives. You will maintain and audit Safety Data Sheet (SDS) manuals for job sites and offices, and train staff on SDS protocols and hazardous material handling. Your role is crucial in ensuring clear communication of safety hazards through signage, barriers, and informational materials.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the implementation and upkeep of site-specific Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) programs.
• Support continuous improvement efforts aligned with OSHA, EPA, and industry best practices.
• Identify safety issues, assign corrective actions, and verify resolution.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and update procedures as needed.
• Advise management on hazard mitigation, employee training, and safe equipment/material use.
• Manage the hazardous materials program, including testing and compliance before operations begin.
• Distribute safety communications promptly and maintain a positive, safety-focused work environment.
• Keep leadership informed of key safety matters and maintain accurate training records.

Essential Skills

• 1–3 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Degree in Safety Science, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, Engineering, or a related field.
• Familiarity with OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, EPA, and Workers’ Compensation laws.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills with keen attention to detail.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Capable of making independent decisions and managing complex safety and compliance issues.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• EMT or firefighting experience is a plus.
• Preferred certifications: Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Graduate Safety Practitioner (GSP).

Work Environment

The Safety Coordinator role operates Monday through Friday, with working hours from 10:00/11:00 AM to 7:00/8:00 PM. This position requires a balance of office and fieldwork, ensuring safety protocols are maintained across all job sites and facilities.
