Job Description
The Energy Marshal is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all changes in energy events that occur on site. This role involves collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure the project schedule is maintained. The Energy Marshal will lead and direct all documentation related to changes in energy events, auditing these documents in the field. Additionally, they will assist in the commissioning process to ensure compliance with site-specific Control of Hazardous Energy Requirements by all onsite trade partners, owner vendors, and third parties.
Responsibilities
- Assist in creating and maintaining site-specific Control of Hazardous Energy requirements.
- Review and validate safety programs of trade partners, vendors, and third parties to meet or exceed site-specific requirements.
- Review and authorize all applications for on-site energy changes.
- Assist the commissioning process to ensure startup activities meet site-specific Control of Hazardous Energy Requirements.
- Effectively communicate with various stakeholders including project owners, staff, craft, trade partners, third-party entities, and vendors.
- Participate in the six-step quality control/safety process.
- Maintain all documentation associated with energy change requests.
- Conduct audits in field conditions to ensure compliance with authorized applications.
- Identify hazardous conditions and establish safe boundaries until processes correct unsafe conditions.
- Evaluate field activities to ensure adherence to processes.
- Identify, record, and report discrepancies to the Project Management Team.
- Derive system-level operations for schematics and associated documentation to ensure equipment protection and personnel safety.
- Coordinate with utility providers to establish safety conditions for on-site activities.
- Identify operational requirements for voltages ranging from low voltage control circuits to high voltage power transmissions up to 230,000 volts.
- Coordinate with vendors and trade partners to ensure safe equipment operation.
- Participate in First Time Energizations and First of Kind activities throughout the commissioning process.
- Provide on-site training in electrical safety and awareness for firm and subcontractors.
- Request, collect, and catalog submittals from trade partners.
- Brand and assemble collected materials for project manuals and reports.
- Integrate with other Facility Solutions and Commissioning Associates.
- Review, develop, and coordinate systems readiness, pre-functional, and functional performance test drafts.
- Conduct field observations for verification of construction status.
- Coordinate and participate in videography efforts associated with owner training.
- Lead and mentor Facility Solution Associates I and II.
- Implement activities related to Operational Project Readiness (OPR) regarding MEPF technical assessment, coordination, and implementation.
- Safety management and electrical expertise.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project.
- Project coordination and construction experience.
- Understanding of health, safety, energy analysis, and environmental safety.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- Experience in commissioning and facilities management.
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- 2-5 years of relevant work experience.
- Basic written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized.
- Ability to perform tasks with minimal oversight.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
This position requires working on-site every day. The role involves physical demands such as exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects. The individual will engage in walking, kneeling, sitting, crouching, reaching, stooping, reading, speaking, pushing, pulling, lifting, standing, and typing, with frequency varying by workflow and field activity. The role also involves operating computers or tablets, communicating with employees and stakeholders, reading blueprints, and taking field measurements. The position involves climbing ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and ramps, balancing, stooping, reaching, and grasping. Visual acuity and vehicle operation certification are required. The work environment includes exposure to high and low temperatures, noisy conditions, and outdoor elements like precipitation and wind.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
