A design-build firm in Chicago is looking to add a Licensed Architect to their team! This individual will work on small to mid-sized projects, including K-12, civic, and mixed-use developments.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of innovative design concepts that align with client goals and project requirements, establishing a strong design vision
- Oversee all phases of architectural projects from initial design through construction and project closeout
- Plan, develop, and execute the production of comprehensive technical design and construction documents, ensuring accuracy and adherence to building codes
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of building materials, systems, specifications, codes, details, and construction techniques
- Lead in interdisciplinary coordination with engineers, construction, and consulting teams through schematic, design development, and construction document phases
- Work closely with the Project Manager and Lead Project Designer to establish and implement detailed work plans to meet project milestones
- Incorporate sustainable design principles and practices into projects, promoting environmentally responsible solutions
- Conduct detailed reviews of design and construction documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with project goals
- Exhibit understanding of Owner/Architect agreement, project schedule, and project budget parameters
- Conduct regular site visits during construction phases to verify work aligns with contract documents
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior architects and design staff
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture from an accredited program
- Licensure required
- 5+ years of professional experience in an architectural firm
- Proficient in design software such as Revit, Enscape, Bluebeam, Procore, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office
- Strong project management skills and the ability to lead and motivate teams
- Extensive understanding of building codes, construction methods, materials, and sustainable design principles
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chicago, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $115000.00/hr.
