Job Description
We are seeking a skilled 3rd Shift Forklift Operator who will be responsible for operating sit-down forklifts, taking products off the production line, and placing them on freight trucks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate propane sit-down lift trucks efficiently and safely.
- Create labels for each production run and ensure all information is accurate.
- Apply labels and feet to each pallet accurately.
- Verify piece counts on each pallet and ensure they match the label.
- Inspect material for quality defects and report any issues.
- Take products off the production line and store them in designated warehouse locations.
- Ensure the production line remains clear and operational.
- Maintain proper row alignment and leave a 2-4 inch distance between pallets.
- Utilize RF scanners effectively.
- Adapt to a fast-paced work environment.
- Proficiency in operating sit-down forklifts.
- Experience in manufacturing environments.
- Ability to use RF scanners for inventory management.
- Minimum of 2 years experience operating sit-down forklifts.
- High School Diploma or GED required for permanent employment.
- Foreign diplomas or GEDs are acceptable with proof.

Work Environment
The work environment is a manufacturing and warehouse setting with over 50 employees across office and production areas. The facility includes multiple production lines with various machines, such as saws and slitters. Employees will navigate through conveyor systems with safe walkways provided. The facility operates with an open-door policy for trucks loading and unloading, requiring adaptability to varying temperatures during summer and winter. Shift hours are currently from 7 pm to 3 am, transitioning to 11 pm to 7 am for a 24-hour shift in the summer, with flexibility required for training on the 1st shift.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Franklin Park, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
