Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

• 70%-80% of the role is sheet metal, weldment design using SolidWorks
• - R&D
• Additional responsibilities include:
  • Talking and managing suppliers for sourcing new parts and components
  • Working with Operations to consult on building new lines and dFMEa
  • Working with operations to launch new products and install new systems

- Utilize knowledge of engineering design principles to generate sound designs that meet customer needs in terms of safety, innovation, and utility

- Develop, evaluate, and validate designs to meet product requirements and cost targets through design reviews

- Establish a foundation for success in manufacturing by implementing and utilizing built-in quality (BIQ) and design for manufacturing (DFM) practices

- Manage engineering changes for both new machine design and existing products

- Detail technical drawings, weldment technical drawings, assembly prints, and specifications that enable the production team to correctly fabricate, weld, and assemble all engineering outputs

- Collaborate with the manufacturing team to turn proprietary designs into real factory outputs by optimizing design for manufacturing methods, material selection, and material flow

- Support new product releases, including engineering, manufacturing, and field commissioning
