Job Description
The Site Safety, Quality & Construction Manager is a full-time, on-site role responsible for overseeing construction operations, safety compliance, and quality control on a federal healthcare roofing project in North Chicago, IL. This position ensures compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1926, USACE EM 385-1-1, VA, and NAVFAC requirements.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily construction operations on site.
- Ensure safety compliance and quality control.
- Serve as SSHO, Competent Person, and Superintendent/CQC Manager.
- Supervise subcontractors and manage daily field activities.
- Administer the Accident Prevention Plan (APP).
- Conduct inspections to ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality execution of work.
- Manage inspections, testing, documentation, and closeout requirements.
- Experience with construction safety and compliance.
- Knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926, USACE EM 385-1-1, VA, and NAVFAC requirements.
- Experience as a Site Safety Health Officer (SSHO).
- Proficiency in quality control and compliance management.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
- Experience with NAVFAC eCMS is preferred.
- Osha 30 certification.
- Skills in federal construction and health & safety.
- Ability to implement a three-phase control process (Preparatory, Initial, Follow-Up).
This role is situated at the Captain the person Federal Health Care Center (FHCC) in North Chicago, IL. The project involves replacing the roof on the main hospital. The work environment includes managing construction in an occupied medical facility, requiring adherence to safety standards and quality control measures.

This is a Contract position based out of North Chicago, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.87 - $48.07/hr.
