WELDER / WE'LL PAY FOR YOU TO GET A CDL

Millennium Waste / Waste Connections has an immediate opening for a Container Welder to join the team in Rock Island. We will pay for you to get a CDL!!

Our Container Welder will perform welding and electrical repair of trash containers and compactors as well as trash trucks in our fleet. Once you have a CDL the position will be 75% welding and 25% driving

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Performs welding and fabrication of steel & aluminum components by using equipment such as shears, plasma cutters, MIG and ARC weld, and torches.
• Responsible for safety checks and preventative maintenance on containers and compactors.
• Handles paint touch-ups, placing decals, installing wheels & lids, and completing paperwork.
• Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate and OSHA standards.
• Drive commercial vehicles once CDL is obtained to do container deliveries
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements -

• Valid Driver's License.
• Clean Driving Record
• Ability to get a CDL
• Welding experience.
• Electrical knowledge.
• Ability to lift at least 50lbs repeatedly.
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
