Actalent is hiring for a Product Quality Engineer II in Round Lake, IL!

Job Description

The Product Quality Engineer II is responsible for utilizing statistical and engineering techniques to investigate non-conformances, performing document reviews to support design and labeling change controls, and supporting product testing to ensure product conformance to specifications. This role requires a basic understanding of product engineering and quality management system concepts, as well as FDA, ISO, and related quality systems.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize DMAIC tools to investigate non-conformances and participate in CAPA-related activities, including CAPA ownership as required.
  • Apply engineering product development and process knowledge to solve straightforward problems, such as FMEA, Finite Element Analysis, Process Modeling, Design of Experiments, Molding, and SPC.
  • Perform standard engineering assignments to support change controls and new product development.
  • Assist cross-functional teams in identifying and assessing risks.
  • Conduct product testing to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Understand and support the complaint handling process and complaint investigations.
  • Conduct complaint trend analysis and analyze data from various sources, including Non-Conformances, Field Corrective Actions, and Complaints, to drive decisions.
  • Facilitate small project teams to accomplish team objectives.
  • Support both internal and external quality audits as required.

Essential Skills

  • Basic understanding of Quality Management Systems.
  • Technical understanding of engineering and product development principles and procedures.
  • Experience with CAPA, FMEA, and DMAIC tools.
  • Familiarity with Minitab and Power BI.
  • Ability to organize and present technical information with minimal assistance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a related environment.

Work Environment

The work environment involves collaborative efforts with cross-functional teams, including both technical and non-technical members. The role requires the ability to handle multiple projects and demonstrate effectiveness in task completion, decision-making, training, problem-solving, and team leadership.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Round Lake, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $52.00/hr.
