Our customers are public safety agencies, governments and military organizations who use our mission critical communications systems. The Security Update Service team, part of the Motorola Solutions cybersecurity services organization, protects mission critical systems by ensuring security updates are verified, tested, and installed.
Job Description
As a remote security update service technical administrator, you will be responsible for administering and supporting the application of monthly and quarterly operating system security patch updates to mission critical systems and ensuring they are protected from cyber threats. This position will follow documented processes to ensure that critical infrastructure is returned to service as soon as possible in a timely manner.

Job Description
As a remote security update service technical administrator, you will be responsible for administering and supporting the application of monthly and quarterly operating system security patch updates to mission critical systems and ensuring they are protected from cyber threats. This position will follow documented processes to ensure that critical infrastructure is returned to service as soon as possible in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
- Provide initial analysis of issues identified during the patching lifecycle
- Work directly with various support teams to provide insight into patching information, identified concerns, and more
- Manage tickets associated with the patching approval and other processes
- Perform preventative maintenance checks to ensure proper system operation
- Provide early notification of potential concerns and recommended solutions
- Verify and apply security patches and updates for Windows and Linux based operating systems, VMware solutions, and other technologies
- Hands on experience with Windows and/or Linux operating systems
- High level knowledge of networking concepts (i.e. network devices, IP addresses, ports, and protocols)
- High level knowledge of virtualization concepts (VMWare ESXI)

Basic Requirements
- At least a High School Diploma or GED
- 2+ years of experience performing troubleshooting, break fix, or technical support on Windows or Linux operating systems
