Department Overview

This role reports into the Video & Software - Portfolio, Business & Systems Operations team. The Business Systems Operations team is responsible for enabling the success of the wider V&S Product Organization by ensuring that technology solutions align with the operational goals and strategies of the company. We strive to lower the overall complexity of doing business with MSI as well as enable the organization to move faster by managing and optimizing business systems. We help drive productivity, streamline processes, and facilitate data-driven decision-making. The organization looks to guide continual optimization of platforms and cross organizational processes and improve visibility to the leadership team on how the business is operating.


Job Description


The Business Systems Operations Consultant uses their deep understanding of both technical and business aspects to effectively bridge the gap between IT capabilities and business needs. The Operations consultant will be the business lead during the integration of acquisitions onto the MSI platform collaborating with cross functional business and IT teams. They will also lead transformational projects collaborating with teams across the organization in IT/Finance/Supply Chain/Engineering/Sales/Legal/etc and make decisions that leverage technology to solve business problems and improve overall organizational efficiency.

Success in this role is ensuring other business functional area teams such as Portfolio and Product Management leadership feel confident that the business systems team will make decisions aligning with the overall business goals.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage key cross-functional strategic initiatives, including acquisition integrations, new implementations, and system upgrades.
  • Develop solutions to problems that ensure the best internal and external customer experiences from quoting offers to collecting cash
  • Anticipate potential issues and implement proactive measures to prevent system disruptions. Adopt a proactive stance toward continuous system improvement.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance system efficiency and business processes.
  • Oversee the implementation of improvements that align with organizational goals.
  • Work closely with other departments to understand their system needs and provide solutions that enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Ensure business readiness and change management prior to business system project deployments
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy within business systems.
  • Develop and manage budgets for system-related projects and maintenance. Ensure cost-effective use of resources.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 10 years of related experience in technology related fields with a Bachelor's degree; Masters degree is a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify system inefficiencies and develop effective solutions.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and business intelligence tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of enterprise business systems (e.g., ERP, CRM)
  • Understanding of business processes, strategic planning, and organizational goals.
  • Ability to align technology solutions with business objectives.
  • Ability to adapt and evolve to changing business environments and technology advancements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to understand and communicate the big picture while being able to be detail-oriented about execution
  • Strong leadership and team management skills to guide technical teams, manage vendor relationships, and drive cross-functional projects
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results on time.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated, results-driven with a strong sense of urgency
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Able to navigate a highly-matrixed organization and gain trust with leaders across multiple layers

Basic Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree
  • A minimum of 10 years of business systems operations experience in technology-related fields.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
