This is an Electrical Operations Team Technician position responsible for reporting to the team manager, team supervisor and/or Tech I and performing daily response to electrical needs and concerns, and electrical activities within company facilities, including but not limited to performing daily service requests as needed and other tasks as assigned. Technician/s may be assigned to more than one facility as needed.

 

Job Responsibilities/Essential Functions/Competencies: DAY SHIFT (6:00 a.m. thru 6:45 p.m., 12 hrs. 45 minutes per day, 3 days per week. Saturday-Sunday-Monday.)

  • Demonstrate an understanding and adherence to all work safety policies, procedures and electrical best practices
  • Perform service work based on ticketing system- Update ticketing system
  • Training for completion of work orders associated with building or grounds, as requested. Includes but not limited to power-up and power-down of equipment;
  • Perform inventory and general maintenance of power cord adaptors which Includes but not limited to:
    • Informing Supervisor/Manager of low inventory
    • Overseeing assembly of new power cord adaptors
  • Maintain facility assets through scheduled preventative maintenance and repair activities which includes but not limited to:
    • UPS system
    • IDF cabinets
    • Electrical distribution equipment inspections
  • Participate in departmental on-call program, as designated
  • Maintain all tools and equipment in clean, safe, working order
  • Adhere to all safety requirements and wear the proper Personal Protective Equipment required by the job
  • Willing to work Day or Evening shifts.
  • Respond to emergency situations to ensure employee and facility safety
  • Champion overall safety in the department
  • Comply with OSHA, and other local, state and federal regulations
  • Adhere to Organization and the Facilities Department policies and procedures including appropriate attire, grooming and attendance
  • Interact effectively, build relationships, and demonstrate a high level of cooperation

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years working experience in Electrical System functions and the Electrical Industry (required).
  • Technical college diploma or military training in related field (required)
  • Knowledge of electrical controls and electrical high and low voltage systems with training in OSHA general industry electrical safety standards. (preferred)
  • Training in NEC National electrical code and NFPA 70E electrical safety requirements (required)
  • Previous training in NFPA 70E electrical Arc Flash requirements (preferred)
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical blueprints. (preferred)
  • Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Basic understanding of 48V D.C. applications.
  • Basic electric experience in both A.C. and D.C. and hands on experience in troubleshooting A.C. circuits. (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of thermal imaging test equipment.
  • Must possess a valid state Driver’s License and provide proof of liability coverage meeting Company standards.
  • Basic Electrical, Mechanical and HVAC knowledge (preferred).
  • OSHA 10 certification (required).

Working conditions:

  • The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounter while performing the essential functions of the job
  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate is occasionally exposed to wet, hot, extreme cold and/or humid conditions; and moving mechanical parts and may be required to work in confined spaces.
  • The associate works non-traditional business hours including evenings, nights, weekends, holidays and on-call.
  • The associate may occasionally be required to travel to other operating companies or the corporate office as business needs dictate (i.e. training, business continuation, etc.)
  • The associate is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and confined spaces
  • The associate is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
