Job Description

We are seeking a Water/Wastewater Professional Engineer for our Fort Wayne Office. This is an excellent career opportunity for a multi-talented and creative engineer interested in solving complex water/wastewater engineering challenges.

Responsibilities

• Engage in all phases of municipal water/wastewater treatment process design including conceptual and feasibility evaluations.
• Prepare design reports and develop contract documents.
• Provide bidding assistance and support construction engineering services.
• Work on projects involving the design of water distribution systems and wastewater collection systems for municipal clients across Indiana.
• Participate in some stormwater engineering and transportation engineering work.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a similar discipline; a Master's or Ph.D. is a plus.
• Registered Professional Engineer in the state of Indiana or ability to obtain reciprocity.
• Experience in water/wastewater engineering treatment process/plant design, including drinking water and wastewater.
• Hydraulic engineering experience with planning and design of pump stations, collection systems, and distribution systems.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in team environments.
• Ability to serve as a mentor to junior team members.
• Strong work ethic and organizational skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working for a civil consulting firm.
• Experience with treatment plant modeling software such as GPS-X and Visual Hydraulics.
• Familiarity with Civil 3D.

Work Environment

The office environment is laid back but can be deadline intensive at times. There is a family feel with a strong emphasis on teamwork. Dress code is business casual. Standard working hours are flexible, with options to start as early as 7 AM or as late as 9 AM. There is potential for a flexible work schedule with longer hours from Monday to Thursday and shorter hours on Friday.
