Vertex Aerospace Solutions is seeking a procurement professional to join the Modernization & Sustainment Acquisition team. The Procurement Specialist is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, awarding, documenting, and managing suppliers for both material and service-based requirements. In this role, the person will be responsible for placing requirements on purchase order in the most efficient and compliant manner.

Vertex Aerospace Solutions is seeking a procurement professional to join the Modernization & Sustainment Acquisition team. The Procurement Specialist is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, awarding, documenting, and managing suppliers for both material and service-based requirements. In this role, the person will be responsible for placing requirements on purchase order in the most efficient and compliant manner.
Responsibilities Include:
- Identify qualified suppliers for program requirements
- RFQ (request for quote) activities
- Analyze supplier quotes and make sourcing decisions
- Supplier negotiations on price, lead times and terms & conditions
- Purchase Order documentation
- Post-award ownership in accordance with company directives and work instructions
- Proficient in Microsoft Office application including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to balance workload by multi-tasking
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills
- Prior procurement experience
- Experience using SAP (Procurement functions, Business Warehouse, Business Objects)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (including Pivot Tables, Macros, etc.)
- Experience with Six Sigma and productivity improvement
- Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience
