Job Description
This role involves operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to safely move, store, and prepare products within a busy warehouse environment. You will support daily warehouse operations by receiving, organizing, and shipping materials while maintaining accurate inventory records and following all safety procedures.
Responsibilities
- Operate sit-down forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently to move materials throughout the warehouse.
- Receive and inspect incoming shipments to verify quantities, quality, and accuracy against documentation.
- Unload trucks and move inventory to designated storage locations in an organized and timely manner.
- Use RF scanners to pick, stage, and track inventory accurately for orders and internal movements.
- Prepare materials for packaging and shipping, including packing, labeling, and palletizing orders.
- Operate pallet jacks and related equipment to assist with loading, unloading, and transporting materials.
- Maintain accurate inventory records by updating systems and documenting all material movements.
- Follow established shipping and receiving procedures to ensure orders ship on time and in full.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards to support a safe and efficient warehouse environment.
- Adhere to all safety procedures, warehouse policies, and equipment operating guidelines at all times.
- Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to support smooth warehouse operations.
- Proven experience as a forklift operator or material handler.
- At least 1 year of recent forklift operating experience, including having operated a forklift within the last year.
- Valid forklift certification.
- Hands-on experience with sit-down forklifts.
- Experience with material handling, including loading, unloading, and moving inventory.
- Proficiency using RF scanners for picking and inventory tracking.
- Experience with pallet jacks and basic warehouse equipment.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations, processes, and safety practices.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain accurate inventory records.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities to work closely with warehouse colleagues.
- Experience with picking, packing, and shipping processes in a warehouse setting.
- Comfort working with shipping documentation and inventory tracking systems.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a busy warehouse environment.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to company policies and procedures.

Work Environment
This position is based in a warehouse environment where you will work around forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment. The role involves regular lifting, moving, and handling of materials, as well as frequent use of RF scanners and other warehouse technology. The work is fast paced and hands-on, requiring comfort working on your feet for most of the shift and adherence to standard warehouse attire and safety gear as required by site policies.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sellersburg, IN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $16.50 - $17.25/hr.
