Accountant, Principal

We are searching for a Principal Accountant on behalf of our client. This is 6-month contract assignment. The person will lead a special project to clean up balance sheets for a non-operated oil and gas play. This will involve reconciling revenue, cash receipts and outstanding accounts receivable.

Location: Houston, TX 77002

Responsibilities

• Expected deliverables will be improved process flows and documentation, completed reconciliations, and tag and clearing aged balances.
• Will work closely with revenue team and project controller's to understand existing monthly close process, background on the business structure and current issue to be resolved.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field, plus 6+ years accounting experience required. A CPA, CMA, MBA or Master's in Accounting is strongly preferred.

• Experience with handling complex account reconciliations
• Oil and gas industry experience preferred
• Self-starter, proactive mindset
• Tenacious approach to digging into complex problem solving
