Our client is looking for a full time Network Engineer to compliment their growing company. The company provides motor vehicle solutions that are used to securely issue motor vehicle documents and license plates. This company has grown and expanded 40% in the last 12 months and that has increased their number of firewalls that need supported specifically. They have approximately eighteen customers (100+ customer sites) some international with 400 vpn tunnels. Description Our Network Engineers are responsible for ensuring the stable operation of the network infrastructure, which includes multiple sites. This position must be able to work independently and as part of a team responsible for planning, developing, installing, configuring, supporting and optimizing all network hardware, software, and communication links. This person will also analyze and resolve end user hardware and software computer problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user training where required. Position Functions or Responsibilities • 6-8 years of complex Cisco network/hardware management, including disaster recovery and hardware redundancy. • Multiple environment management • Network security • Hardware management through software (Solarwinds) or similar • SSL/S2S/Software VPN connectivity, management, and revisions to support WFH personnel • In-depth understanding of network services and networks such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, OSPF, BGP • In-depth understanding and practical knowledge of networking sytems such as LAN, firewalls, routers and switches • Ability to analyze and evaluate networks, identify issues and provide solutions to ensure networks are operating efficiently • Ability to design, implement and troubleshoot, wired, Wi-FI and security infrastructure • Time management +++ • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously from design to implementation +++ • Ability to communicate technical information to other technical team members but also to coworkers in other departments who may not have knowledge of networking technical terminology • Ability to self-start and take ownership of projects and drive them to closure • Installation, configuration and management of Cisco ASA firewalls, routers and switches. • Excellent ability to manage complex networks with multiple VLANs and VPN connections. • Expert level in handling network services/protocols such as DNS, DHCP, IPSEC, ipv4 (including subnetting), etc. • Expert level in troubleshooting network connectivity (LAN, WAN and VPN). • Assist in the management of and ensure the effectiveness of security solutions, including firewalls, anti-virus, IPS, web-filtering and encryption products. • Windows Server 2012/2016 administration • Working experience in Hyper-V virtualization • Working knowledge of Active Directory users, groups and policies • Experience in backup technologies (SCDPM, Veeam) and assisting in complete backup infrastructure • General knowledge of IIS Web Services and Microsoft DNS. • Make recommendations for the improvement of the IT network infrastructure and related IT systems. • Assist in the administration of all server related equipment, hardware and software upgrades. • Develop and deploy methodologies for testing network performance, and provide network performance statistics and reports. • Establish best practices and policies for installing, configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting all network devices. • Adhere to policy and procedures – Responsible for all compliance of policies, procedures and operational integrity. Knowledge & Skills Required • Cisco switches, routers and firewalls – including VLANs, IPS and VPNs • Experience with IIS web server • Experience with Hyper-V virtualization technologies • Experience with Windows Server 2012/2016, Windows 7/8/10 and MAC • Working knowledge of SharePoint 2013/2016 • Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills • Must have working knowledge of Active Directory, IMAP, POP, SMTP, DNS, DHCP, SSL, VPN and the ability to troubleshoot issues related to those services • Ability to occasionally lift up to 75 lbs. • Knowledge of PCI DSS a plus Education Bachelor degree in Computer Technology or equivalent work experience, and a CCNA (CCNP a plus)
