Description:
Phlebotomist Floater under the direction of the area supervisor performs daily phlebotomy activities of the Patient Service Center (PSC) or In-office Phlebotomy (IOP) accurately and on time. Phlebotomist Floater works assisting with coverage of client locations as needed. Travel is required. The person in this position interacts with the client, patients, and other personnel in a professional and courteous manner and performs with confidence, both the forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.
Companies Supported: (Fort Wayne) Lutheran Physician Group, Women's Health Advantage, Fort Wayne Medical Oncology & Hematology / (Indianapolis): Magnifica, UDirect, New Moon.
Monday - Friday 8-5; no weekends unless special event / circumstances and more voluntary. They are all outpatient clinics and will have a small lab in each location.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED / Equivalent
- Phlebotomy Training Program completion
- Phlebotomy Certification and/or Equivalent Experience (6+ months dedicated phlebotomy / blood draw experience)
- Ability and comfortability to administer blood draws including: VENIPUNCTURE AND BUTTERFLY
- Will be responsible for urine sample testing, swab testing
- Detail Oriented
- Ability to read and understand medical terminology
- Be able to navigate computer operation and patient portal software
- Must have valid drivers license and reliable car
Preferred Skills:
- 1+ year Phlebotomy in medical office setting
- Experience with EPIC, ONCOR, CERNER
- Specimen / Tissue Prep / Label / Handling Experience
- Specimen / Tissue Processing Experience
- Experience working in collaborative team, but also independently as this will be required in this role
