Mechanical Design Engineer located in Cedar Rapids, IA Hiring ASAP

Job Description

-Responsible for engineering and project administration activities related to specific circuit breaker product families.

-Perform engineering analyses, including thermal, electromagnetic, dynamic, and structural, using experience applying basic engineering principles.

-Ensure compliance with specific ratings, product specifications, and standards requirements.

-Participate in cross-functional teams with Manufacturing, Quality, Marketing, and procurement functions.

-Participate in Failure Mode Effects Analyses (FMEA).

-Support design activities, such as brainstorming, database management and development, design/peer reviews, and general analysis, including tolerance analysis, using experience with basic machine design.

-Ensure products meet requirements for Design for Manufacturing (DFM).

-Responsible for the creation of CAD models and drawings, Bills of Materials (BOM), and certifications, using CAD/CAM software and experience with Bill of Material (BOM) creation, modification, and documentation.

-Validate First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) and pilot run reviews.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Must have Bachelor's degree in engineering related field (electrical, mechanical, industrial)

Must have minimum 2 years in a high production manufacturing environment

Must have knowledge of:

-Design for Manufacturing (DFM)

-Bill of Material (BOM) creation, modification, and documentation

-basic engineering principles

-basic machine design

-CAD/CAM software

Travel 10% of the time
