Controls Engineer

Actalent Engineering is hiring a Controls Engineer to support a local integrator within the Quad Cities. The Controls Engineer will work for a brick-and-mortar organization serving a variety of different industries, including agriculture, grain handling, chemical processing, metals, discreet manufacturing, pet foods, etc.

Responsibilities:

·      Provides estimates, scope of work, and designs for customers, reviewing findings with customers.

·      Develops control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and other field instruments. 

·      Designs, programs, and oversees installation of electrical and control systems. 

·      Performs electrical studies, evaluating results and providing recommended solutions to customers.

·      Performs troubleshooting on associated equipment, including relays, power systems, ladder logic, and PLC controls. 

·      Manages budget and schedule to ensure cost and deadline are met while providing value to customer.

·      Must be willing to travel regionally (2-6 hours away) daily to support manufacturing companies.

·      Limited travel out of state to supporting companies with additional travel pay, per diem benefits, company vehicle and travel expenses paid for by company.

Qualifications:

• BS in Engineering (ideally electrical) from an ABET accredited university + 2+ years of experience OR an Associates in Engineering (ideally electrical) + 4+ years experience
• PLC Programming experience, specifically with Allen Bradley (would consider someone with extensive troubleshooting experience)
