Large landscaping, and site management company local to the Des Moines market. They're pretty well established and one of the top 3 companies in their field locally.
They are needing to hire 20 individuals for their construction division for the 2021 season (typically starts March/April when the ground thaws). They would like our help filling these 20 spots.
Construction team is responsible for doing commercial landscape construction and maintenance. Duties could range from planting trees and shrubs, to building retaining walls, to laying out and pouring and finishing walking paths, laying sod, to hardscaping and mulching. A foreman will oversee the laborers at all times, and the foreman is the only person to operate any equipment to move materials or dig up land.
The role of the laborer is very physical. It will require them to work outdoors in all elements (extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, etc) and will require them to be on their feet doing physical work for 8-10 hour days. Candidates must pass a pre-employment lift test the client runs that will measure them on ability to lift 75-100 lbs from ground to waist, 50-75 lbs waist to crown, push and pull 100 lbs, etc. Candidates will also have to be comfortable kneeling, crouching, bending, hauling, etc.
Will use tools (all provided by company) like shovels, spades, hand trowels, push brooms, rakes etc. to perform work needed.
Will lay off in the winter, however once full time, can assist with snow removal during winter months to avoid lay off or get partial hours if they want. Snow removal pays $18/hr. Will receive a notice the day of inclement weather warning and get assigned to a crew and deployed if weather hits. Hand labor (shoveling) or run plow (again once perm)

Able to pass physical (lift/push/pull 75-100 lbs consistently from various angles)
1+ year physical outdoor labor experience (landscaping best) or extreme willingness to learn the role
