Summary of Position: Data entry of patient demographic data of residents, prepares and submits claims to insurance companies, answers billing questions from patients, staff, and insurance companies, evaluates financial status and establishes payment plans, reconciles outstanding accounts, processes payments, mails patient statements, and all other duties as assigned. Job Duties: Works at a fast pace with extreme accuracy Provides the highest level of patient care, compassion, empathy, and patience Exceptional Teamwork and Cooperation Strong aptitude for learning Compassionate customer service internally and externally Accurate data entry of patient demographic data on residents and face sheets Prepare, scrub (check for errors), and submit claims to various insurance companies Answer questions from patients, staff, and insurance companies regarding billing Evaluate patient’s financial status and establish payment plans when necessary Reconcile outstanding accounts and work insurance recoupments Process payments from insurance companies Prepare, submit, and mail patient statements Handle Med A Census between clients and Heartland Health Laboratories, Inc. Process Medicare billing Answer phones as needed All other duties as assigned

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Required Experience: • 2 - 4 years of on the job Medical Billing experience • Minimum of 2 years Medicare Billing experience • High School Diploma or GED Due to CMS guidelines as it relates to payment from Medicare and Medicaid all employees are required to be fully-vaccinated for COVID19. You will need to acquire your 1st COVID vaccination before your start date and present proof on your first day. If you are fully vaccinated, you will be required to provide proof.
