COT is looking to add a desktop support technician to the Field Services team in Frankfort. The Commonwealth of KY has begun a project called CC19 where 8,000+ desktop PCs have to be replaced with laptops. This initiative is to allow for much greater flexibility and remote capabilities for State employees. This project will last several months, and there will, most likely, be long term opportunities to follow if the Technician performs at a high level. The role after the completion of the CC19 project will shift to daily end user support. The Technician will be responsible for providing 60% deskside support and 40% ticket callback (hardware orders and closing out previous tickets that didn't have the proper parts to fix). Expect to have 5-10 tickets per day through the Heat ticketing system. Will be joining a team of 3-5 other technicians to provide support to State agencies. This position will provide desktop support to various state agencies located in Frankfort - If travel is required, a state vehicle is typically available. Along with desktop duties such as working on desktops, laptops, tablets, software, copiers, printers and phones (VoIP/mobile/analog), the candidate may be required to assist with servers, routers and network switches if needed. Will be covering buildings throughout Frankfort. A state vehicle will be available. Driving record will be analyzed.

Customer service is huge, excellent communication, team player, and someone that is willing to ask for help when needed. Interpersonal and teamworking skills are extremely important. If they don't get the impression that the Tech will be customer focused, that person will not work out for very long.
