Lead Electrical Designer – Advanced Power Generation (APG)
This opportunity supports a large, well-established EPC firm within the Power Providers Market Sector, focused on Advanced Power Generation (APG) projects that deliver critical energy infrastructure.
Role Overview
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams supporting APG facilities
- Contribute to power systems design, including electrical infrastructure supporting generation assets
- Play a key role in developing high-quality 2D and 3D engineering deliverables
Technical Focus
- Electrical design scope includes:
- Duct bank design
- Cable tray design
- Grounding systems
- Lighting and other supporting electrical systems
- Create and modify design drawings using Bentley MicroStation and other Bentley tools
- AGI32 experience preferred for lighting design and illumination calculations
- Apply advanced electrical engineering principles under minimal supervision
- Maintain strong awareness of project budgets and schedules
Lead & Design Responsibilities
- Function as a lead technician, technical design specialist, and/or supervisor
- Apply advanced expertise to solve complex design challenges
- Ensure technical quality, schedule adherence, and budget compliance
- Establish, communicate, and enforce design and graphic standards
- Review project requirements, design inputs, and deliverables for consistency and compliance
- Coordinate and integrate design efforts across disciplines
- Guide and mentor engineering technicians and support staff as applicable
Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Drafting or Engineering Design–related technology (required)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Design–related technology (preferred)
- Typically 10+ years of relevant industry experience
- Power generation design experience required
- Ability to complete standard pre-employment onboarding requirements

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Overland Park, KS.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $70.00 - $80.00/hr.
