Job Title: Construction Materials Technician

Job Description

We are seeking an entry-level Construction Materials Technician to join our team. The role involves testing concrete for slump, density, and moisture in the lab. You will receive comprehensive in-house training and work closely with various stakeholders, including project managers, engineering technicians, and client representatives.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with project managers, engineering technicians, client representatives, and contractors about construction site requirements and testing results.
• Transport material samples and associated documentation to the laboratory for further testing and analysis.
• Tabulate, prepare, and submit written and digital reports of data and observations for daily transmittal to the project manager.
• Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas.
• Assist with scheduling and dispatching technicians to project sites as needed.
• Adhere to strict safety standards.
• Provide clear documentation of findings and results.
• Engage in a progressively increased role of training and responsibility in work assignments.

Essential Skills

• Experience with concrete and construction materials.
• ACI Certification, along with other KYTC or ICC certifications.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Construction Materials Testing (CMT).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to work in both field and lab environments.

Work Environment

The work environment involves working on some of the largest projects in the state across various industries, including industrial, power, and private sectors. The typical working hours are Monday through Saturday, ranging from 8 to 10-hour days. During summer, more hours may be required than in winter. While there is no guarantee of 40-hour work weeks due to industry nature, overtime compensation is available for hours worked beyond 40. Employees receive hands-on training for entry-level civil roles, and certifications and additional training are company-sponsored.
