Scale Clerk

We are seeking a Scale Clerk to join our team at the Bossier City Transfer Station . The Scale Clerk will be responsible for managing and operating the scale system to weigh incoming and outgoing waste materials, ensuring accurate records, and providing excellent customer service.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Pay: $17/hr.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Greet and direct all customers and contractors upon entry to the transfer station
• Weigh trucks in and out and calculating payments for customers
• Track weight information from scale to computer system and get appropriate signatures
• Ensure that incoming garbage loads are safe and do not contain any inappropriate material
• Perform full clerical and general office duties
• Assist with office duties, filing and paperwork as needed
• Ensure that customers and employees conduct all business in a safe manner and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Provide general upkeep of the Scale House
• Generate regular reports summarizing transaction data, weights, and other relevant information
• Provide reports to management as required

Requirements:

• Proficient in operating computer systems and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations is a plus
