Job Title: Laboratory Assistant
Job Description
As a Laboratory Assistant, you will play a vital role in managing and processing materials for the company and its clients. You will handle the retention and disposal of materials, ensure the proper storage and preparation of samples, and maintain accurate records.
Responsibilities
- Receive and sort samples to ensure proper storage.
- Prepare all samples for testing and add the correct preservatives if necessary.
- Handle hazardous materials such as crude oil, refined petroleum products, refined fuels, LPG, petrochemicals, industrial gases, and natural gas.
- Move 20-50 boxes weekly to a storage unit, laboratory, or trucks.
- Dispose of samples responsibly.
- Assist other laboratory personnel with analysis, data checks, approvals, and handle simple calculations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 6+ months of experience in a production environment
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift up to 50-pound boxes
- Proven ability to follow SOPs as confirmed by references
Work Environment
The work environment is fast-paced, processing up to 100 samples daily. You will work Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, as part of a team. Lab safety attire, including lab coats, safety glasses, and gloves, will be provided. The dress code requires a shirt that covers the stomach, lower back, and upper arms, long pants, and shoes that completely cover the feet. Flexible scheduling is available to accommodate school commitments.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Sulphur, LA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
