Description:

• The Specimen processor will receive samples, open boxes, organize workspace.
• The Specimen Processor will enter all patient demographic and testing information into LIS system, label all samples for testing, and run automated aliquoting equipment.
• Specimen processors will check samples and requisition forms for adequacy and flag any discrepancies or issues.
• Perform Sample Prep
• Patient data entry into LIS system
• Running automated equipment and incubators
• Accurate labeling of patient samples
• Following daily decontamination protocol
• Handling problem resolution upon receipt of information from the Customer Care team
• Organizing and restocking of all lab supplies

Documentation, specimen processing, specimen collection, data entry, labelling, sample collection, sample preparation, LIS, Accessioning

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• High School diploma
• Attention to detail
• Ability to accurately follow and remember written instructions
• Ability to type 45 WPM
• Computer literacy and typing accuracy
• Ability to communicate and work effectively with a team
• Ability to change and move in a fast-paced environment
• Comply with all safety guidelines
• Apply learned concepts to troubleshoot novel situations
• Initiative to prioritize patient care always
