Job Title: Marketing DirectorJob Description

The Marketing Director is responsible for planning, designing, and implementing marketing and promotional campaign projects. This role involves creating and executing an annual strategic plan aligned with revenue stream metrics, marketing, and business development goals. The successful candidate will evaluate and adjust plans regularly to ensure effectiveness and return on investment.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and oversee annual and ongoing marketing projects, ensuring each project follows a quality control process to support on-time and on-budget completion.
  • Lead the production of high-quality catalogues and other sales materials, both print and digital.
  • Curate and manage marketing assets while conducting regular marketing research to measure campaign success, focusing on analysis and recommended actions.
  • Lead brand marketing campaigns to engage and empower target audiences, ensuring marketing plans are viewed as investments with clearly identified returns.
  • Develop annual communication plans with an editorial calendar and necessary materials/assets.
  • Improve website SEO and collaborate with the leadership team to ensure websites support sales, marketing, brand recognition, and customer ease of use.
  • Ensure consistent marketing messages across the organization, including unified messaging in emails, phone messages, and other external communications.
  • Oversee media relations, maintain a regular press release schedule, and provide tools for customers to complete their own press releases.
  • Collaborate with other directors and departments to design, support, and oversee cross-functional teams and marketing activities.
  • Plan and implement conferences, panels, forums, and other events, collaborating with relevant leaders to generate campaigns that drive sales.
Essential Skills
  • Five or more years of successful leadership experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing; advanced degrees in relevant fields such as journalism, education, or business are considered.
  • Minimum of six years of progressive leadership experience leading to managing a marketing department.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with HubSpot (minimum one year), with familiarity with Salesforce, WordPress, and Woo-Commerce as a plus.
  • Ability to quickly learn, master, and guide others in digital marketing tools and platforms.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to hire, train, and motivate team members.
  • High accountability for performance, goal-oriented, flexible, and creative under pressure.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Membership in a professional organization such as the American Marketing Association (AMA).
  • Experience communicating with multiple educational professional audiences is preferred.
  • Ability to operate on both tactical and strategic levels, overseeing effective teams while collaborating to develop new marketing solutions.
  • Comfortable communicating with professionals at multiple levels.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is necessary.
Work Environment

The role requires working on-site from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. It offers an opportunity to join a fast-growing non-profit organization, with the chance to build and lead a marketing team to support client growth.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Turners Falls, MA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $42.07/hr.
