Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Estimator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing detailed and accurate labor, materials, and equipment takeoffs as well as completing comprehensive cost estimates for both small and large projects. You will collaborate closely with construction managers, engineers, vendors, and other departments to ensure precise and effective estimation processes.
Responsibilities
- Perform detailed and accurate labor, materials, and equipment takeoffs.
- Complete detailed cost estimates for projects of varying sizes.
- Collaborate with construction managers, engineers, vendors, and other departments to discuss and formulate estimates.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and vendors.
- Review project documents to develop a clear understanding of the project scope.
- Work closely with the operations team to relay key project scope information during proposal review meetings and at project turnovers.
- Solicit subcontractor and vendor pricing.
- Assist in the maintenance of bid documents, including plans, specs, RFI, addenda, quotes, and proposals.
- Procure the best pricing for subcontractors and vendors, and review quotes for accuracy and compliance with bid documents.
- Identify project risks and opportunities and bring them to the attention of the team for review.
- Comfortably attend and participate in scope review meetings with clients to address any questions.
- Experience in estimation, construction, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Experience with Autobid Mechanical.
- Technical experience in mechanical, plumbing, or fire protection systems.
- Proficiency in Bid Tracer is a plus.
This is an onsite position. You will have the opportunity to develop skills within fire protection, HVAC, and plumbing while working for the largest mechanical contractor in New England.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Waltham, MA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $115000.00/yr.
