URGENT Animal Care Technician- Cage Washer

Description:

Animal Care Tech- Cage Washing Duties -Operate mechanical cage washing equipment, autoclaves and other sanitizing equipment. -Place processed bedding, feed and other related items into assembled, sanitized cages. -Maintain detailed records of maintenance schedules, detergent and disinfectant use, cage washer and autoclave performance tests. -Maintain adequate levels of cage wash chemicals. -Performing daily animal health observations, animal husbandry duties to maintain quality and health of research animals, to include: perform daily water bottle /automatic water line and cage checks; provide appropriate food and water; perform cage changing and/or cage cleaning as required per SOP and/or specified protocols.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Animal Care Techs: • Education & Exp: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Six months experience in research animal care and husbandry preferred. Physical requirements for the job: Stand, walk, or otherwise move about campus on a continuous basis. Lift, carry or otherwise move and position objects and materials weighing up to 50 lbs. Ability to ascend/descend stairs on a regular basis
