Medical Billing Specialist

Aston Carter is looking for a medical billing specialist who has good experience in the behavioral health side of healthcare! 1-3+ years of billing experience required! This position is 100% remote.

Description:

Responsible for the collections on all open claims over 180 days and older ensure any necessary actions are facilitated to providers in an orderly fashion.

Contact insurance companies regarding outstanding accounts using a telephone or emails.

Initiate appeals, denials and claim reprocessing projects as need be and in timely manner.

Prepare bad debt write-off request for approval.

Communicate with the Authorizations/Credentialing department regarding any billing changes that need to be implemented.

Work effectively and cooperatively with Medi-Cal and commercial carriers.

Professional, organized, punctual, detail-oriented.

Self-starter with a positive attitude who is organized and efficient.

Work effectively under tight deadlines with supervision, as well as work well within in a team oriented environment.

Written and verbal communication skills including phone and email etiquette.
