Senior Mechanical Engineer

Description:

Participate as a member of our multidisciplinary engineering team that designs, develops,

prototypes, and tests our advanced antenna and RF-over-fiber communications products

• Design and develop housings for our electronic and antenna assemblies that meet

stringent environmental requirements

• Perform engineering calculations to support design work

• Create engineering prototypes and oversee environmental and mechanical testing

• Use industry standard design practices compliant with ISO9001 standards

• Develop and review technical and manufacturing drawings, work instructions, and bills of

material for manufacturing and third party vendors

• Ensure documentation is accurately reflected in the company’s configuration management

system.

• Interface with part suppliers and vendors, coordinating the specification, purchase and

delivery of fabricated components

• Help transition products from R&D to manufacturing

• Audit production personnel who manufacture our designs

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering

• 5 - 15 years of product design experience

• Firm grasp of engineering concepts, and experience designing mechanical systems and

products

• Experience in packaging of RF products and understanding of RF materials

• Exceptional technical and problem-solving skills and reasoning ability

• Proficiency in the use of SolidWorks

• Knowledge and familiarity with the fabrication methods of sheet metal and machined parts

• Knowledge of plastic injection molding, tooling, machining, part and assembly design and

manufacturing processes

• Self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision in a multidisciplinary team

environment

• Detail oriented and capable of managing multiple projects and designs simultaneously

• Strong written and oral communications skills and able to clearly and effectively articulate

mechanical performance in written narrative
