Looking for an experienced Embedded Flight Software Engineer to provide technical guidance, development troubleshooting and expert level knowledge of spacecraft flight software for an advanced spaceflight hardware development effort. Act as a the NASA representative in the management of deliverables to program requirements and ensuring milestones and timelines are met by spaceflight vendors. Job Duties: Architect/Design/Build software for Real-Time Operating Systems Develop, Document and maintain portions of the software life-cycle: architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems. Design and develop software verification plans, unit level, open loop and closed loop test suites, procedures, and document test results to ensure software system requirements are met and verified Perform Software product life-cycle management Develop, select, tailor, and deploy software processes, tools and metrics Serve as a subject matter expert for various software domains, processes and algorithms Higher level positions will lead technical projects and mentor team members

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or Computer Engineering 15+ years of directly applicable experience in embedded flight software development. Experience and proficiency in C/C++ is required. Experience with ADA would be a plus. Experience with the Linux development environment required and experience with MAC preferred. Experience with motion control, kinematics, robotics, automation or related electromechanical controls would be a plus but not required. Any exposure to high reliability or mission critical applications is required (satellites, aerospace, military/ DoD, automotive, medical device) Experience in multicore-processor architectures. Experience in as many of the following as possible: Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC). Ability to read flows, understand control laws, able to convert MATLAB code to C/C++ or Ada. GNC Fault Detection, Isolation, and Recovery (FDIR) Thermal Systems Controls Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) System on a Chip (SoC). Command and Telemetry processing Embedded Systems architecture Infrastructure – I/O, Operating Systems, device drivers, hardware interfaces
