Senior Business Analyst / w experience in AEM environment


The Marketing Enablement Technology group is seeking a Sr. Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Business Analyst. The Marketing Enablement Technology group is responsible for the strategic planning, construction, enhancement, maintenance, and governance of the firm’s AEM platform as well as many digital web properties and enterprise content delivery channels. In this role, you will design, develop requirements, modify, adapt, and implement short- and long-term solutions to information technology needs through new and existing applications, systems, and applications infrastructure. You will develop, review system requirements, and business processes with the delivery team. You will test and debug software solutions.

o Accountable for work of self and sometimes others, provides process and standards advice in specialty

o Able to work independently with minimal guidance, as well as part of a team

o Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience

Role Summary and Responsibilities

o Defines complex or enterprise-wise business needs for new and/or enhanced products, services, or optimized business processes

o Works closely and develops relationships with a variety of senior level internal and external business partners to ensure that all business requirements are understood, documented, and met

o Works on initiatives of moderate complexity size and impact

Business Knowledge

o Able to work directly with business stakeholders

o Decisions show a focus on current and future business priorities, together with fiscal responsibility

o Can articulate business needs and translate them back to the agile team for technical solutions

o Demonstrates knowledge of product/flows within the domain supported

Analytical Skills

o Ability to breakdown complex or vague problems and steps through them in a rational way

o Makes tactical vs. strategic tradeoffs

o Flexible in his or her thinking; able to evolve a solution when additional information or ideas are presented

o Identifies opportunities for process improvements

o Assists in implementing new process as technologies, risks and methodologies evolve

Technical Skills

o Effectively identifies upstream and/or downstream system/process/data impacts (upstream and downstream) and proposes appropriate alternatives/ remediation

o Demonstrates proficient understanding in multiple technologies/applications

o Communicates technical concepts to non-technical audiences using multiple forms such as verbal and written

o Identifies impacts across teams and coordinates to manage dependencies and potentially competing priorities

o Stays current with many bests of breed technologies

o Active participant in all phases of the software development life cycle

o Ensuring a lean-agile mind-set is applied to work projects

o Working on initiatives of moderate complexity, size and impact

o Able to evolve a decision as new information is gained

o Connects one’s own work with the strategy of their team and/or department/firm

o Independently works with subject matter experts on complex work to ensure clarity of the problem/opportunity and elicit business requirements

o Uses questions and proposals to clarify requirements when unclear

o Leads discussions with the business on multiple options to help solve the root cause, including various trade-offs and recommended approach

o Formulates several possible solutions/alternatives before asking for help

o Finding opportunities for process improvements

o Assisting in implementation of new processes as technologies, risks, and methodologies evolve

o Displaying dedication to helping team members/makes suggestions to improve practices

Experience with the following specific Technologies/Products is a plus:

o Experience working on digital projects with frameworks such as Adobe Experience Manager (AEM)

o Knowledge of related Adobe products including Analytics, Target, Campaign, and how the Adobe products work together in the eco-system.


o Offers and holds and opinion on how things should be done, but is willing to change

o Is principled in decision making and thought leadership

o Raises and addresses issues proactively

o Critiques own work; can analyze and justify trade-offs

o Helps others with problems by showing how to work through them, not just giving the answer

Communications and Influence

o Provides a clear and concise explanation of business and technical concepts, designs, or implementations to stakeholders and team members

o Uses a variety of communication mediums and models to convey information (i.e. written, visual, verbal)

o Drives collective understanding with senior engineers and knows how and when to compromise, without undermining the core principles of a given design or implementation based off requirements

o Solicits and responds to feedback effectively from all team members

People Management

o Proactively helps team members/make suggestions to improve practices.

o Capable of leading a small team on for a specific project or task
