Job Description

A midsized Biotech founded on the basis of COVID-19 in

April 2020. They originally started with 250 employees and are currently

already at over 1500 employees. They have already acquired over 850 million

dollars of investment capital and recently expanded to North Carolina.

The Desktop Support Tech is being brought on to assist

in transition and support activities post acquisition of the Allston, MA

manufacturing facility. This Desktop resource will be responsible for laptop

encryption, and management of patching during this period. They will need to

have Windows OS experience (desktop), Active Directory experience, an

understanding of network security at the desktop level, O365 support, and

password resets. This is a day shift, preferably an early riser like our

current day shift tech who likes to come into the office early. Person will be

dedicated to staffing our ‘end user computing’ genius bar and other team

members will cover floats and sometimes afternoon.



Support Technician

·       Description

o   The Desktop Support Technician's role is to support and

maintain organizational computer systems, desktops, and peripherals. That

includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all

organizational hardware and equipment while ensuring optimal workstation

performance. The person will also troubleshoot problem areas (in person, by

telephone, or via work order) in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide

end-user assistance where required.

·       Responsibilities

o   Support development and implementation of new computer

projects and new hardware installations.

o   Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of

complex desktop problems for end users, and recommend and implement corrective

solutions, including off-site repair for remote users as needed.

o   Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot

end user and network hardware, peripheral devices, printing/scanning devices,

presentation equipment, software, and other products in order to deliver

required desktop service levels.

o   Construct, install, and test customized configurations based

on various platforms and operating systems.

o   Collaborate with technology team members to ensure efficient

operation of the organization's desktop computing environment.

o   Where required, administer and resolve issues with associated

end-user workstation network software products.

o   Receive and respond to incoming calls, pages, and/or work

orders regarding desktop problems.

o   Ensure that desktop connections, i.e. network jacks are in

proper working order.

o   Prepare tests and applications for monitoring desktop

performance, then provide performance statistics and reports.

o   If necessary, liaise with third-party support and PC

equipment vendors.
