Global Learning & Organizational Development Consultant

Office of Human Resources

Regular Exempt, Grade 3.2

Hybrid (One to Two days a week in office Adelphi, MD)

The Learning and Organizational Development Consultant plays a key role in the facilitation of UMGC's new Global Leadership Learning and Development program which is designed to ensure all leaders acquire the skills needed to support UMGC's vision, strategic agenda and purpose driven mission.

A highly engaging and experienced facilitator with extensive leadership development and learning design experience, the Learning and Organizational Development Consultant will also take the lead on the end-to-end development of emerging leader and mentoring components of the program.

As a member of the Global Employee Experience, Learning and Development team at UMGC, the consultant will also contribute to efforts to strengthen UMGC's organizational culture and employee experience, leveraging human-centered design methodologies, and providing organizational development consulting services across the university.

Primary Duties:
  • Facilitation and delivery of UMGC's new Global Leadership Learning and Development program to all team members. Leverage learner feedback and other relevant data to continually improve the program and enhance its impact. - 60%
  • Lead the development and implementation of the Emerging Leader and Mentoring components of the Global Leadership Learning and Development program, in partnership with key university stakeholders and external vendor. - 20%
  • Identify and assess opportunities to strengthen UMGCs culture and employee experience. Leverage relevant data and research, develop and implement organizational development interventions in partnership with colleagues in Global Employee Experience, Learning & Development, other teams from within the Office of Human Resources, and senior leaders at the university. - 10%
  • Support the team in developing learning experiences, content and materials, and other duties as assigned. - 10%
Required Education and Experience:

4-year college degree in Organizational Development, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Leadership, Learning and Curriculum Design or other related area of study.

Experience:

5 to 7 years in Organizational Development, Leadership Development, Facilitation, Consulting, Learning Design.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong knowledge of best practices and innovation in leadership development. Excellent presentation and facilitation skills in both in-person and virtual settings. Previous experience building and delivering large-scale leadership development and training programs, iterating with speed and agility, and sustaining success. The ability to quickly assess organizational needs and culture to implement appropriate interventions. Strong consulting and influencing skills. The ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels. Capacity to build and maintain strong professional relationships. Experience in Human-centered design and integrating agile methodologies into learning design. Experience designing and leading mentoring programs. Effective decision making and problem-solving skills. Excellent planning and strategic thinking skills. Data-driven in assessing the impact of your work. Comfortable collaborating across global teams.

Minimum Travel Time Required

Preferred Education and Experience:

Masters or other post-graduate education in Organizational Development, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Leadership, Learning and Curriculum Design

Experience:

7 to 10 years with Employee Experience, Employee Engagement. Working within a Global organization. Higher Education experience.

1 to 3 years supervisory

Hiring Range:
$95,000.00 - $110,000.00
