The Leidos Digital Modernization Sector Health IT Division is seeking a Senior Cloud Solution Architect/Technical Lead with extensive knowledge and expertise in Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) technologies and architecture. The Senior Cloud Solution Architect/Technical Lead will play a pivotal role the cloud migration journey for Federal Health customers, and will design, implement, and optimize cloud-based solutions on the AWS, Azure, and GCP platforms, ensuring a scalable, secure, and high-performing infrastructure that aligns with end user research and operational needs. The Senior Cloud Architect/Technical Lead will provide vision and direction to Senior Architects and IT staff across all three cloud technologies and collaborate closely with SecDevOps teams, stakeholders, and Cloud Service Provider (CSP) representatives to deliver innovative solutions that accelerate cloud adoption while minimizing disruptions to operations.
Candidate must be local to the DC Metro area for onsite work and be a US Citizen or US Person with the ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
Primary Responsibilities
Candidate is a technical leader with in-depth understanding of AWS, Azure, and GCP services, infrastructure components, security best practices, and architectural patterns. Pay Range:
Pay Range $144,300.00 - $260,850.00

Cloud Architecture Design:
- Help users conceptualize and design comprehensive AWS, Azure and GCP solutions, providing guidance on resource allocation, scalability, high availability, disaster recovery, and performance optimization.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive cloud architecture blueprints for enterprise applications and workloads.
- Evaluate and recommend the most suitable AWS, Azure and GCP services and configurations for optimal performance and cost-effectiveness.
- Design scalable and resilient cloud solutions that meet NIH's workload owners specific requirements.
- Lead the implementation of cloud solutions, including the migration of existing applications and the development of new cloud-native applications.
- Assist in the implementation process, offering insights on deployment strategies, automation, and monitoring.
- Configure and optimize AWS, Azure and GCP services, ensuring adherence to best practices and security standards.
- Automate cloud infrastructure provisioning and management using infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools.
- Provide expert technical guidance to IT teams and stakeholders on AWS, Azure and GCP best practices, architecture patterns, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Mentor and train junior cloud engineers on AWS, Azure and GCP technologies and solution design principles.
- Collaborate with AWS, Azure and GCP representatives to leverage their expertise and stay informed on the latest AWS, Azure and GCP offerings.
- Identify and resolve issues in existing AWS, Azure and GCP environments, analyze performance bottlenecks, and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Provide expert advice on AWS, Azure and GCP-related topics, such as cloud migration strategies, security hardening, compliance requirements, and integration with other systems.
- Monitor cloud performance metrics, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies.
- Conduct regular reviews of cloud infrastructure and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Ensure that cloud solutions are highly available, fault-tolerant, and disaster-resilient.
- Design and implement cloud security controls to protect data and applications.
- Ensure compliance with relevant security standards, regulations, and policies.
- Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans to identify and address potential risks.
- A Masters Degree with 15+ years of prior or relevant experience.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience leading technical teams in architecting and implementing AWS, Azure and GCP cloud solutions.
- AWS Certified: AWS Solutions Architect Professional certification.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification.
- Google Certified: GCP Solutions Architect Professional certification.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale, complex migrations with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience with AWS, Azure and GCP cloud technologies and migration strategies.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools (CloudFormation, ARM Templates and Deployment Manager, Terraform) and configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
- Experience with AWS, Azure and GCP DevOps for CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and serverless computing.
- Experience leading teams in delivery of IT in support of biomedical research.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- ITIL Foundations certification.
- Deep understanding of AWS, Azure and GCP services and their integration.
- Strong scripting skills (Python, PowerShell, and Bash) and experience with automation frameworks.
- Experience overseeing programs for the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
- One or more of the following certifications: Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), PMI Project Management Professional (PMP).
