Job Title: RF Technician
Job Description
The candidate will serve as a principal electrical engineering technician responsible for supporting the production of newly developed and legacy products. This role requires expertise in designing complex printed circuit boards with micro-processors and controllers, high efficiency power supply design, analog signal conditioning, sensors, and RF components. Additionally, experience in designing systems for ordnance initiation under rigorous safety standards is desirable. A background in FPGA design using VHDL or Verilog is advantageous. Candidates must be U.S. citizens capable of obtaining a secret level security clearance.
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of complex technical test functions related to supporting production activities, including set-up, operation, modification, calibration, and testing of digital, analog, RF, and electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) electronic assembly and sub-assembly processes.
- Diagnose and correct equipment and system malfunctions that do not respond to standard corrective measures.
- Write and interpret specifications used in designing, maintaining, and calibrating electronic systems, chassis, or components.
- Prepare reports, charts, and graphs as part of process documentation.
Essential Skills
- Technical training with 4-6 years of experience and an Associate's Degree in Electronics Technology or a technical degree preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of electronics, physics, and math.
- Ability to comprehend specifications, production requirements, procedures, and production drawings.
- Skill and experience using electronics test and measurement equipment in circuit testing and troubleshooting, including power supplies, signal generators, multi-meters, oscilloscopes, RF spectrum analyzers, RF power meters, IR cameras, etc.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- RF or EO/IR experience is preferred.
- Relevant military experience in electronic equipment or applicable trade school training is a plus.
- Must be a U.S. citizen able to obtain/maintain a SECRET security clearance.
Work Environment
The work environment includes designing and developing test and simulation hardware and software for Electronic Warfare (EW) applications. This involves simulating enemy radar or missile threats to test aircraft sensors and electronics or for pilot training. The role demands high fidelity software and hardware design to accurately simulate threats.
