Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as an Electronic Design Engineer, supporting the ongoing development of innovative ultrafast laser systems in our Laser Division. The selected candidate will be responsible for custom PCB design and bring-up, integrating third-party components, creating cabling and cable drawings, collaborating with vendors, and conducting compliance testing. This role requires the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Additionally, the candidate will contribute to training other engineers.

Skills & Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years (ideally 10 years) on designing electrical circuits from concept, and all the way to PCB layout. That includes having experience in all the following steps of the design:

• Sketching out system diagram based on system requirements.
• Conceptual design of analog (amplifiers, voltage convertors and regulators, current sources, etc.) or digital (CPLD, micro-controller, ADC/DAC, etc,) circuits to meet system-level requirements.
• Selecting individual components for the design based on component datasheets.
• Performing simulations to validate the design.
• Schematic capture for the final design through PCB design tools, preferably Altium (but other tools acceptable).
• PCB layout design using Altium or other PCB layout design tool.
• Hands-on testing and validation of the PCBs

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Jessup, Maryland.

Work Environment

The role involves working in an office-type environment alongside the engineering team. Occasional work in the manufacturing room and lab is also expected
