Job Description:
Our client is seeking a Commercial Security Service Technician with well-rounded expertise in servicing security systems, including intrusion detection, access control, magnetic locks, door strikes, and more. Responsibilities include testing, troubleshooting, repairing, replacing, and maintaining these systems.
While fire system experience is not required, candidates with two or more years of fire service experience are highly encouraged to apply. Our client operates throughout the entire state of Maryland and into Delaware.
Role Details
- Technicians receive their service call schedule one week in advance.
- Expect an average of four service tickets per day, with call durations ranging from one hour to multiple days.
- A company vehicle is provided for take-home use.
- Standard hours are 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, though this may vary depending on customer needs.
Required Experience
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across a variety of security equipment.
- Familiarity with systems such as Alarm.com, DMP, DSC (832, 1832, Alexor Panel, Impassa, Neo), Qolsys Panel, Bosch Keypad (B930), Honeywell, Concord, Vista, and others.
- Experience with motion sensors, door locks, glass break detectors, smoke detectors, and carbon monoxide detectors.
Preferred Fire System Experience
- Fire system experience is a plus but not mandatory—training will be provided.
- Systems include Silent Knight (6808, 6820) and Potter AFC (1000, 100, IPA 60, IPA 100, IPA 4000V).
- Understanding of system architecture and setup, particularly with Alarm.com and similar platforms, is highly valuable.
Top Skills Required
- Technical Service Expertise
- Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial security service.
- Proficient in servicing intrusion detection, access control, CCTV (Bosch, Honeywell, DMP, Alarm.com).
- Must be able to program systems.
- Fire system experience is a strong advantage.
- Communication Skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with management, project teams, customers, and technical support.
- Problem Solving & Customer Service
- Capable of diagnosing and resolving hardware issues.
- Strong customer service orientation and installation knowledge for quick fixes.
Additional Requirements
