About the Role

Nexteer is looking for a business minded individual with experience in Engineering, Cost Modeling and Program Management to join the team as a Value Enhancement Manager. This position at Nexteer and offers the right candidate the ability to interface with various functions within Nexteer as well as with suppliers. The ideal candidate will have experience in Cost Modeling and Program Management and has the ability to map the cost associated with processes involved in engineering and manufacturing of purchased parts. As we have suppliers located throughout the world, there is opportunity for international and domestic travel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop cost models globally for Nexteer's supplier base
  • Coordinate with Enterprise Commodity Manager (ECM) and regional commercial teams on the development of the supplier priority list to build cost models and provide a monthly update on the status of the development projects
  • Lead / Support Global Supply Management (GSM) in the negotiations with suppliers to get them to an open book" relationship
  • Obtain a final agreement from a supplier once a model is developed for a supplier's site.
  • Coordinate with the pursuit team on developed cost models in new programs quoting.
  • Maintenance of the models as frequent as required, always obtaining the supplier agreement on the updated model.
  • Through the development of the cost models, lead the discussions with the suppliers and Nexteer to improve efficiencies and eliminate waste to become more competitive.
  • Support the evaluation of the validity of commercial quotes for engineering changes through the use of cost models.
  • Support the Cost Improvement Process (CIP) with regional leads in Lean and VA/VE events.
  • Collaborate with ECMs and engineering for cost competitive and efficient designs/processes as part of the cost model development.
Qualifications
  • 3 years of experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, Costing or combined.
  • 2 years of experience in activity based costing disciplines, including Ground Up costing development.
  • 2 years of experience in Program Management (preferred)
  • Multicultural global team management experience.
  • Ability to take measured risks and challenge status quo and develop creative solutions with limited information and limited time.
  • Ability to assess suppliers manufacturing feasibility.
  • High analytical ability and problem solving in complex and tight timing situations.
  • Component drawings and specifications experience.
  • Excellent communicator with strong presentation skills & ppt development.
  • Bilingual is a plus
Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing or business-related discipline. Master's degree is a plus.
