Position Summary Environmental Technicians are responsible for the overall cleanliness and appearance of the interior and exterior of assigned commercial and residential properties. They execute high-quality work standards using established and recognized best practices, protocols and equipment. This team provides detailed cleaning and disinfecting in the maintenance of our common area and tenant spaces. Responsibilities
  • Inspect all assigned areas daily
  • Detail clean and maintain all main lobbies, elevator lobbies and common areas
  • Detail deep clean restrooms, including monitoring and maintaining stock levels
  • Perform exterior grounds upkeep, plaza, patio and sidewalk cleaning/sweeping/power-wash
  • Maintain clean and clear building entrances and vestibules
  • Maintain clean and clear back-of-house areas, e.g., hallways, stairwells, dock areas, freight elevator lobbies
  • Empty ash/trash receptacles - interior and exterior - making sure they are free of spills/dirt/stains
  • Plunge and clean toilets as necessary, using approved protocols
  • Inspect and maintain cleanliness and appearance of all maintenance, utility and storage and stock rooms
  • Inspect and maintain cleanliness and appearance of all vacant tenant spaces, completing checklist
  • Respond quickly to emergency situations
  • Perform all assigned work so as to ensure the safety of the building's tenants and the continuous operation of the site(s)
  • Prioritize service calls and follow-up upon completion
  • Perform physical inventory of on-hand stock, and maintain stock and inventory control
  • Check-out and check-in specialized cleaning equipment using the appropriate process
  • Be familiar with and conform to all operating procedures associated with site(s)
  • Remain current on and exercise established cleaning and disinfecting protocols, including the operation of specialized equipment
  • Must comply with all Health & Safety requirements and guidelines, including all site-access screenings
  • Performs manual snow removal and salting in all-weather conditions, if necessary

Minimum Qualifications
  • Effective communication skills
  • Must be able to read and write in English
  • Must be computer proficient, including Microsoft Office and smart phone
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Ability to prioritize emergency calls
  • Must have high school diploma or the equivalency of the same
  • Janitorial experience helpful
  • Medical/Hospital cleaning system experience

Physical Qualifications
  • Balancing: Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces Mobility and flexibility and ability to climb ladders
  • Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist
  • Kneeling: Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees
  • Crouching: Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine
  • Crawling: Moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet
  • Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction
  • Standing: Remaining upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time
  • Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, and/or to move from one work site to another
  • Pushing: Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward
  • Pulling: Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion
  • Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position
  • Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm
  • Heavy work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up-to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
  • Vision: Visual acuity adequate to read small print and to drive a motor vehicle is required
  • Hearing: The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented in English in person and on the phone is required
  • Speaking: The ability to talk to others in English in person and on the phone and effectively convey information is required
